On February 1, 2016, the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs held the 2016 Senior Adult Health Care Professionals of the Year Awards. 2016’s recipients of the awards were nominated by their respective employers and work with senior adults throughout the Sandy Springs/Perimeter area in leading, senior adult health care service enterprises. The 2016 Senior Adult Health Care Professionals of the Year Awards is a component of the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs’ celebration of the Rotary Has Heart Project. Robert “Bob” W. Hagan, 2015-16 District Governor, Rotary International District 6900, was the guest speaker at the event.

Other Rotary Club of Sandy Springs-sponsored events associated with “Rotary Has Heart” include a February 2, 2016 City of Sandy Springs Proclamation by Mayor Rusty Paul that February 14, 2016 is “Rotary Has Heart” Day, and a Senior Citizens Senior Prom planned for Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2016, at the Dorothy C. Benson Senior Complex at which over 160 area senior adults are expected for an evening of fun, food and music in a “senior prom” format. “Rotary Has Heart” is a Rotary Zones 33/34 program that involves 1600 Rotary Clubs having a combined membership of over 67,500 community/business leaders in eight U.S. states and 20 Caribbean countries.
