President Gene Jordan was “pied” during the CAC 2015 Food & Fun Festival on Saturday May 25, 2015 held at North Springs Charter High School’s athletic field. Gene was joined by Dunwoody Rotary Club President Scott Jennings, also “pied”, whose club gained a 60 pound food collection advantage (at the last minute) in a Rotary club-to-club challenge for canned food for the Community Assistance Center’s(CAC) food bank. The CAC serves the Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities, providing access to its food bank, thrift store, emergency funds for energy and rent bills, plus work skills classes.

nIt was all in good fun and a record 30,000 pounds of food was collected as part of the entire Food & Fun Festival event. Another Sandy Springs Rotarian, Mike Stacy, was “pied” by Pamela Wall, an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs, as part of the Interact Club challenge.

The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs also contributed $2500 to the CAC during the event.
